A Christmas fairy tale

December 18, 2011 - Kathleen Palumbo
Once upon a time in a middle school not too far away a boy and girl met. Though soon separated by miles, the two managed a deep and lasting friendship and eventually something more.

No longer middle school children, but now a young man and a young woman engulfed in the rigors of college life, the two remain the best of friends and still, something more.

Of course, anyone who knows Nick and Jaclyn knows they belong together, and so, the story continues.

On Saturday, December 17th, in a forest not too far away, in the presence of one painstakingly decorated tree, and a perfect, silent snowfall, Nick asked Jaclyn to marry him.

Though somewhat confused at first, (after all, WHO decorates a tree in the middle of a forest, and what a coincidence that it was carved with HER name), with Nick on one knee, Jaclyn said yes.

An idyllic scene, complete with hot cocoa and tissues (Jaclyn’s prince is ever-prepared), two wonderful people, and now two very happy families, bring one more chapter to a conclusion in this story of the boy and the girl who met in a middle school not too far away, who will most certainly live happily ever after.
