Brockmeyer and Sledd united in June ceremony

King of Kings Lutheran Church in Chesterfield, Mo. was the setting June 20 for the summer wedding of Michael John Sledd and his bride, Makenzie Alyse Brockmeyer.

The Rev. Douglas Chinberg officiated at the late afternoon ceremony that joined the daughter of Steve Brockmeyer of Edwardsville, Ill. and Carol Brockmeyer of Glen Carbon, Ill., and the son of John and Cornelia Sledd of Austintown.

A reception was held in their honor at Orlando's Banquet Center in St. Louis, and the couple departed June 22 for a honeymoon in Jamaica.

The bride wore an ivory V-neck gown adorned with beaded accouterments on the bodice and train.

Larissa Brockmeyer, the bride's sister, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Janelle Nyman of Edwardsville, Ill. and Shawn Epstein of Chicago, both  friends of the bride, and Sarah Wilmouth of Austintown, the groom's sister. The bridesmaids’ dresses were of navy blue.

Serving as the best man was Casey Croysdale of Cincinnati, formerly of Austintown.  The groomsmen were Josh Moehle of St. Louis, Dan Helmcamp of Wood River, Ill.,  and Mike Rolfsmeyer of Chicago, all friends of the groom. 

The flower girl was Lillian Dilts of Austintown, the groom's niece. The ring bearer was Isaac Ackerman of Troy, Ill., a cousin of the bride. Ushers were Grant Adams of Troy, Ill. and Drew Talbert of Wood River, Ill., cousins of the bride.

The new Mrs. Sledd is a graduate of St. Louis University with a master's degree in physical therapy and is employed with Children's Hospital in St. Louis. 

Mr. Sledd graduated from Youngstown State University and St. Louis University with a master's degree in physical therapy and is employed with Pro Rehab in St. Louis. The couple have made their home in St. Louis.
