Jack McDonald, of Canfield and a member of South Range High School’s 2010 graduating class, recently signed a national letter of intent to attend Malone University this fall and play baseball for head coach Tom Crank and the Pioneers.

A five-foot, 10-inch pitcher/third baseman, McDonald was named South Range’s Most Valuable Player for the 2010 season. He also collected Inter Tri-County League First Team recognition and wrapped up his high school baseball career by participating in the Northeast Ohio Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game that was held at Progressive Field on June 21.

McDonald is a member of the praise and drama teams at Old North Church in Canfield and has taken part in several mission trips over the past few years. He was a member of the National Honor Society at South Range and graduated with an honors diploma.

McDonald intends to major in physical therapy at Malone and is the son of Keith and RaeAnn McDonald of Canfield.
