Richard and Phyllis DiOrio of Canfield, formerly of Austintown, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, Oct. 8, with a private family celebration at Michael Alberini's Restaurant in Boardman.

Richard DiOrio and the former Phyllis Houser were married Oct. 8, 1960, at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. DiOrio continues to be a homemaker, devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Mr. DiOrio, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, worked for 14 years as a die maker at Spencer Tool and Die and then for 19 years as a cost estimator at General Motor in Lordstown. He retired in 1992.

The couple lived in Austintown for 35 years before moving to Canfield, where they have been for nearly 14 years.

They are the parents of Laura Blanco and her husband, Rick, of Canfield, and Julie Anderson and her husband, Mike, of Jamestown, Pa. They also have four grandchildren: Mark Blanco, Ashley Anderson, Lindsey Anderson and Amanda Blanco.

Their daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren are so thankful for all of their love and devotion over the years.
