CANFIELD -- Funeral services were held Friday, March 14, 2014, at Lane Family Funeral Homes, 65 N. Broad Street, Canfield Chapel for Madeline Elizabeth Olney, 89 of Canfield who died Monday, March 20, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Campus.

Madeline was born April 27, 1924, in Peterborough, England, a daughter of the late Florence and Reginald Bosworth and came to this country in 1946, moving to Canfield in 1950.

Madeline was an avid walker and belonged to the British Ramblers Association, and walked with them in many countries in Europe and also all the coastal paths of England. She was a volunteer for many years at St. Elizabeth Hospital and had attended Youngstown State University. Madeline was also a member of the British Wives Club and the Canfield Bridge Club.

She leaves her husband James, whom she married May 26, 1945; one son, David J. Olney of Greenbelt, Maryland; one daughter, Elizabeth M. (Mark) Danner of Chardon and three grandsons, Christopher C. (Jenna) Danner, James A. Danner (fiancee Laura Motz) and Ian Danner.
