Canfield sports notes

CHS GIRLS SOCCER

* On Oct. 6, the Canfield lady Cardinals defeat Poland Bulldogs, 3-0. Goals were made by Anita Mancini, Bailey Fischer and freshman Alana Petracci. Assists were by Fischer and Mancini. Goalie Raquel Abel had 7 saves for the shut-out, and the Canfield offense had a total of 23 shots on goal. Poland offense had 8 shots, and the goalie had 12 saves. The Canfield junior varsity lost to Poland, 4-1.

* On Oct. 9, the Canfield lady Cardinals lost to the Hickory Hornets, 4-3. Canfield's record now stands at 12-4-0. Goals were made by Mancini, Fischer and Sydney Miller. An assist was recorded by Haylee Klacik. Canfield's offense had 11 shots on goal, and Abel had 7 saves. The Canfield junior varsity team defeated Hickory, 3-0

CHS GIRLS TENNIS

The Canfield doubles team of sophomore Hannah Cianciola and junior Ashley Kaleel have qualified for the OHSAA DI state tennis tournament. They won both of their doubles tennis matches in the opening rounds of the district tournament held at Oberlin College. They defeated teams from Magnificat and Hudson. They play again Saturday morning to determine final district placing and seeding for state.

BOYS SOCCER

On Oct. 11, the CHS boys soccer team fell to Orange, 3-1, to move to a season record of 8-5-3. The lone goal was made by Frank Phillips from Ben Feuer. Registering saves for the Cards were Jeff Joseph with 11. The junior varsity team finished its game with Orange on a 1-1 tie.
