BOARDMAN - Boardman School Fund for Educational Excellence will hosts its second annual Reverse Raffle Dinner 6 p.m. March 10 at the Holiday Inn in Boardman.
The public is invited to enjoy a dinner, basket raffle and silence auction with the chance to also walk away with $2,000.
There will be a series of dinner gift certificates and cash prizes given away during the course of the evening, but the final ticket drawn at the end of the night will be worth $2,000.
However, the real winners are the students in the Boardman Local School District. Since 2009, the Boardman Schools Fund For Educational Excellence, a component fund of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, has awarded more than $48,000 in grant projects. In December, seven teacher mini-grants were awarded.
The items to be purchased for the 2016-2017 school year include wind experiment kits, aquarium systems, elementary school music instruments and supplies for discovery in technology / science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) education classes.
"These are all projects that further the educational interests and talents of our students, and we appreciate the Boardman Education Association for partnering with us in the effort, " fund President Joyce Mistovich said.
Tickets for the dinner are $50 and can be purchased by calling Jody Stepan at 330-726-3404.
