Poland Village Council members expressed unanimity regarding the village's website, which they agreed needed to be maintained and refreshed.
The issue was brought to the forefront at last week's regular meeting.
The village website, www.polandvillage.org, includes valuable information on Poland Village's form of government. The problems recently brought up addressed involved regular maintenance and updates.
"The website needs to be kept up to date," Councilman Bill Dunnavant said.
He said Fiscal Officer Nick Srnec has offered to take control and keep it current.
Mayor Tim Sicafuse said he also was approached by a local person who wanted to revamp the website and host it. He said the person will be invited to a future meeting.
Poland Municipal Forest Board of Trustees representative Eleanor Zedaker spoke at the meeting and said the board would like a page on the village website, too. She said an attempt was made to post the 2016 Woodland Stewardship Management Plan on the site for people to read, but the PDF format wouldn't properly upload; however, later that week, the bugs were ironed out and the plan was added to the site.
Zedaker suggested all council members should review the plan, which was prepared by certified consulting forester Rick Miller, and is being considered by council following this week's special meeting.
Another issue brought up for the website was the fact the village did not have a social media policy. Village Solicitor Jay Macejko said he would address that issue.
