POLAND?- Local mothers and daughters recently bonded over cupcakes and canvases.
Since paint nights are now the popular "girls night out" for many busy moms, Poland Dobbins Elementary used the idea for a great mother-daughter bonding night.
The Dobbins parent-teacher organization sponsored "Cupcakes and Canvas" Feb. 23 at the school, where more than 115 third- and fourth-grade girls worked on colorful heart-style paintings with their mothers or guardians.

Mother Sara Turner and fourth-grade daughter Regan Turner mix their paint in the halls at Dobbins Elementary, as more than 115 third- and fourth-grader girls work on a heart paintings with their moms or guardians.
The paintings were then used to fill the hallways throughout the school with creativity and love.
"This is the first time for this mother-daughter activity at Dobbins," event chair Theresa Rapp said. "We think it's a great opportunity for kids to be creative and be exposed to new art skills, as well as sharing cupcakes and even dancing ..."
The PTO also provided a deejay for the mothers and daughters to dance to.
