AES kindergarteners Kylie Tunison, Kiayah Wagoner and Isabella Coulter are ready to go chow down on their Dr. Seuss-styled lunch March 2. The lunch menu included hop on pop-corn chicken, hot tots from a pot, dip a doodle carrots, birthday Seuss apple Seuss and moo goo choo (chocolate pudding).

In honor of the beloved children's author's birthday, all meals that day were inspired by his work, thanks to the creativity of the food service staff.

"My elementary school staff is always coming up with new ideas to tie in with curriculum to encourage good nutrition," food service Director Tascin Brooks said.

Brooks also mentioned that one food service staff member was even making Dr. Seuss pillowcases to giveaway in a drawing during lunchtime.

"Any student who bought a lunch that day had their name entered into a drawing for a chance to win a Dr. Seuss pillowcase."

The day started off with 228 students eating breakfast, which included green eggs and ham, toast and jam, fruity fruit, fox in a box juice, and moo milk, and the lunch menu included a similar theme.
