Padmanabhan invented an app called PolitiViewr and recently won the 2016 Congressional App Challenge for Ohio's 13th District.

The reception was part of the kickoff for the 2017 App Challenge, which invites high school students to create apps while encouraging them in the STEM education fields.

According to U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan's office, in the first two years of the challenge, the CAC has reached nearly 4,000 students across 33 states.

Padmanabhan was very excited about his visit to Washington, telling his Boardman computer teacher, Evelyn Stanton, "The reception was great. I met a several members of Congress, including Tim Ryan, and tech people from Microsoft, Spotify, Amazon and the government."

Padmanabhan hopes to combine his interests in technology and politics and wants to study computer science at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh or the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
