Native earns Doctor of Chiropractic degree

ST. LOUIS - Dr. Nathan Merhaut of Canfield recently received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan University in St. Louis, Mo., graduating magna cum laude.

Merhaut is the son of Jim and Debbie Merhaut of Youngstown.

While at Logan University, Merhaut earned his master's degree in sports science and rehabilitation, graduating summa cum laude and as valedictorian of his class. He was named to the dean's list and earned the Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities Award.

Additionally, Merhaut was involved in the Chi Rho Sigma professional fraternity, Logan Soccer Club, Motion Palpation Institute, Peer Mentor Program and more. Merhaut will practice chiropractic at Elite Sports and Spine's two locations in New Castle, Pa., and Slippery Rock, Pa.

Logan's Doctor of Chiropractic curriculum encompasses 10 trimesters (the equivalent of five two-semester academic years) of basic and clinical (diagnostic) sciences, chiropractic science, research and patient care.
