A Letter of Intent ceremony was held March 15 in the Canfield High School athletic foyer in honor of senior Kaelin Kabesto, who announced her decision to continue her athletic career at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla.

At Canfield, Kabesto played one year of basketball and three seasons of volleyball, but her greatest area of accomplishment has been in track and field. She earned her fourth varsity letter in the sport in spring.

Having set her middle school's still-standing shot put record, Kabesto most recently earned All-American Conference championship honors in discus and runner-up honors in shot put as a junior. Additionally, she was last year's district runner-up in discus and a regional finalist.
