The fourth annual Creative Arts Night was held at Fitch on Jan. 11. The event was a mixture of art, STEM, and performances that showcased the variety of options a student has in Austintown.

"This all began as a student-led idea," said Fitch Life Literature Teacher Steven Ward.

The idea caught on, and now the Life Lit students put on the entire show, featuring all the after-school clubs and organizations.

Fitch juniors Alissa Baxter and Tianna Amann served as the event managers for the fourth annual Creative Arts Night at Fitch on Jan. 11. The two made sure the event kept moving forward as community members and students showed up to help in the celebration of the arts.

"We have 15 different groups covering all the arts at Fitch," said junior Tianna Amann.

Amann and junior Alissa Baxter served as event managers. It was their job to make sure everything ran smoothly for the night.

Among the featured groups at the event was Austintown Community TV, whose students filmed a lot of what was happening during the evening. Other groups included the Concert Choir, Culinary Arts, French Club, German Club, Life Literature Class, Orchestra, S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), The Talon school newspaper, theater arts, Spanish Club, the art department's art and design, and clay and ceramics, screen printing, Drama Club, Speech Team, National Honor Society, Key Club, and Spirit Club.

The event was also a great place to raise funds for a worthy cause. The National Honor Society did just that by offering ice cream sundaes in the cafeteria. Each sundae was $2 with choice of topping.

"The proceeds from our sales will go to New Lease on Life Animal Shelter in Struthers," said NHS member Megan Krawick.

At the end of the night, residents got to see the wide variety of clubs and organizations students can engage in. It also showcased the artistic side of Fitch High School.
