Boardman Schools Fund for Educational Excellence wants to give people a chance to win $2,000 with its 3rd Annual Reverse Raffle Dinner at 6 p.m. March 9 at the Holiday Inn on South Avenue in Boardman. There will be a series of cash prizes given away during the course of the evening. The final ticket drawn at the end of the night will be worth $2,000.

Since 2009, the Boardman Schools Fund for Educational Excellence, a component fund of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, has awarded approximately $58,000 in grant projects to deserving teachers.

Last year's event helped fund eight teacher mini-grants that will be in place this school year. The items to be purchased for the 2017-18 school year include a virtual reality mobile lab for science and history classes at Glenwood Jr. High, a teleprompter for BSTN video production, a spectrophotometer for AP Chemistry and Science High Schoolers, and STEM stations with manipulatives for elementary grades.
