The Boardman Spartan Indoor Track Team will sent five athletes to the State Championship on Saturday evening at Spire Training Facility in Geneva. Senior Justice Jama made his third straight state meet appearance in the high jump. Jama jumped 6'2.75" earlier this season at Spire to qualify to Saturday's championship. Jama, along with classmate Neil Bevacqua and freshmen Cristian Ortiz and Brennan Stratton made their first state meet appearance in the 4x400 meter relay. The Spartan Relay Team qualified by running 3:36.95 seconds two weeks ago at a meet held at Youngstown State University. Joining those athletes was senior Steven Amstutz. Amstutz made his first state meet appearance in the shot put. Amstutz threw 50'10" earlier this season at a meet held at YSU in order to qualify to state. The Spartan Athletes need to place in the top eight in their respective events to earn All-Ohio status.
