Boardman senior Justice Jama earned All-Ohio status by placing seventh overall in the High Jump with a leap of 6-foot-3 this past Saturday at the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches State Indoor Track and Field Championship held at Spire Institute in Geneva. Jama is a rare three-time state qualifier and is coached by Spartan Jumps Coach John Phillips Sr.

Also competing at the state meet was senior Steven Amstutz in the shot put and the 4x400 relay team of Jama, senior Neil Bevacqua, and freshmen Cristian Ortiz and Brennan Stratton. Amstutz finished 15th overall and the relay team was 20th. The outdoor track season officially begins practice on Monday, March 5 with the first meet for the Spartans at home on a new track with electric timing against the Champion Flashes and Howland Tigers on Tuesday, March 27.
