Boardman Park's Community Garden seeking gardeners

March 29, 2018
The Town Crier

While it may still be too early for digging and planting it's not too early to join the Community Garden and start planning what fresh vegetables will be on the dinner table this summer. Whether one has a a green thumb and is an experienced gardener or whether a beginner, community gardens allows a person to experience the joys of gardening, promote healthy eating habits and build new relationships with others in the community. The garden is located at the Historic Southern Stables on Washington Blvd. Registration for the 10 feet by 20 feet garden plots begin April 2 at the Boardman Park Office, 375 Boardman-Poland Rd., and is available for a fee of $25. The fee includes the garden plot, water, and periodic classes/instructions on gardening. Due to the limited number of plots available, registration is limited to Boardman Residents only. Garden season begins May 1 and runs through Nov. 15. For more information visit the Park office or call 330-726-8105.
