Rotarians learn of water project in Vietnam

September 19, 2018
The Town Crier
Sieglinde Warren, Past District Governor and Canfield Rotarian, spoke on the water project that she and others put together for a mountain town near Hue in Vietnam. A combination of local Rotary clubs, Rotary District 6650, an international partner club from Singapore, and the Rotary Foundation assembled a $72,000 grant to provide water and toilets for 360 families.  While the water comes with a minimal charge per month, it is clean, safe and constantly available for an area where Agent Orange is still a problem. Warren gave a statistic that 4500 children die daily world wide from water related diseases.  Pictured above is Austintown Rotary President Rich Begalla (left) presenting Warren with a library book that will be placed in her honor in the Austintown Elementary library.
