Tsvetkoff to be 179th Eagle Scout for Troop 25

Troop 25, Boy Scouts of America chartered to Canfield United Methodist Church, Canfield, Ohio is proud to announce the awarding of the Eagle Scout Award to Tanner Stephen Tsvetkoff, son of Jason and Brittany Tsvetkoff of Canfield.

Tanner's Eagle Scout Award was presented at a special Eagle Scout Court of Honor on Sept. 26, at Canfield United Methodist Church.

Tsvetkoff, 17, has been in Troop 25 since 2012 and currently holds the rank of quartermaster. He has earned 40 merit badges as well as special awards that include the God and Church and God and Life Religious Awards, a Fifth Year, recipient of the Camp Seven Ranges Pipestone Summer Camp Award, the Mile Swim Award three times, the Stambaugh Emblem and the Gettysburg Historic Hike Award. Tsvetkoff is the recipient of the Troop 25 2012 and 2013 Herman West Most Active Scout Award and the 2012 recipient of the Jimmy Jones Outstanding Scout Award, has earned the troop Order of the ANTS Award and the Bob Roberts Memorial Back Patch Award.

179th Eagle Scout Tanner Stephen Tsvetkoff

Tsvetkoff is a Brotherhood member Marnoc Lodge 151-Order of the Arrow and attended one Section C-4a Conclave. He has participated with his troop at the Gettysburg Historic Battlefield, a 50-mile canoe trip, two ski trips, visited Put-In-Bay, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Mammoth Caves and attended the 2017 National Boy Scout Jamboree in West Virginia.

Tsvetkoff is a senior at Canfield High School where he spent one year in the concert band, and three years in the symphonic band, and participated in the marching band for four years. In both concert and symphonic band he played percussion. In marching band, he played snare drum for three years and bass drum for one year. He has been part of percussion ensembles for the past five years, and with the marching band he has marched at Disney World and in Chicago. Tsvetkoff was part of a chemistry competition in 11th grade where they represented the state of Ohio and worked with the community to provide a solution for Mill Creek Park's e-coli problem and participated in the Chemistry Olympiad at YSU. He currently holds a 4.1 GPA and plans on attending YSU for a degree in engineering.

In other activities, Tsvetkoff races in multiple circuits of Motocross including Race Ohio, Western New York Racing, Ohio Motocross Association, Great Lakes Motocross, Competition Riders of America, and Pennsylvania Motocross Association.

For his Eagle Scout project, Tsvetkoff designed, planned, fundraised, constructed and installed six park benches for the Canfield Township Park.
