Joel Kreuzwieser, resident of Canfield, was selected to perform a solo piano recital at Heinz Hall as a young artist of the Steinway Society of Western PA on Feb. 16, 2019 prior to a performance of the Pittsburgh Symphony. Kreuzwieser auditioned for this honor amongst dozens of pianists across western Pennsylvania and neighboring states.

Kreuzwieser is a top ten student of the senior class at Ursuline High School. In addition to earning a solo recital at Heinz Hall, Kreuzwieser placed first in the Ohio Music Teachers Association's District Buckeye Auditions (April 2018) and as a result was the first pianist from the Youngstown area to appear as a finalist at the Ohio Music Teachers Association's State Buckeye Auditions (June 2018) in over a decade. Kreuzwieser was also awarded Honorable Mention at the Allegheny College's Unusual Combinations Piano Competition (November 2017) and was a featured artist on the Boardman United Methodist Church Community Concert Series (June 2018).

Kreuzwieser has studied piano with local pianist/organist Sean Baran (Boardman, Ohio) since 2011. He has played in master classes with renowned pianists Gerardo Teissonniere, Michael Schneider, and Joachim Reinhuber. He performs yearly at the OFMC Junior Festival held at YSU, earning three gold cups for top ratings across 10 years of participation. In addition to his piano studies, Joel pursues many passions. He has studied karate for 12 years, earning his black belt. At Ursuline High School, he is a member of the baseball and cross-country teams and has lettered in both. In April 2018, Joel was inducted into the National Honors Society. Additionally, Joel is an active member of the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church of Youngstown where he is an altar server and Sunday school teacher.
