Food sought for Andy Skrobola Memorial Food Drive

October 24, 2018
The Town Crier

The annual Andy Skrobola Memorial Food Drive is about to begin. The Canfield Lions Club and its associated LEOS organization based at Canfield High School, Knights of Columbus Council 11369, the Canfield Rotary Club and Canfield Community Care Net combine for this annual Thanksgiving and Christmas effort to feed 50 to 80 local families.

Canfield city and township residents will be receiving paper grocery bags beside their mailboxes over the weekend of Oct. 27-28. They are being asked to fill them with non-perishable food items (see below). LEOS members will pick up the filled bags from city residents on Nov. 3, while city and township residents can bring the food to one of the three Cardinal Joint Fire District fire stations.

Needed items: peanut butter, cereal, canned fruit and vegetables, soup, pasta, instant potatoes, jello, pudding, ketchup, cake mixes, spaghetti sauce, rice, tuna, stuffing, coffee, tea, sugar, flour, cremora, baby food, diapers, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, facial soap, laundry soap, and deodorant.

Residents who do not receive a bag can simply drop off food items in a plastic bag at the door of one of the fire stations. Those wishing to make a financial contribution can write a check to the Canfield Lions Club and send it to Phil Bova, 311 Chapel Lane, Canfield OH, 44406. Call 330-720-0481 with any questions.
