Saying thanks in a special way

October 31, 2018

On Friday (Oct. 26) a delegation of 11 Poland Union students made the trip after school to Poland Fire Station 91 to make a special delivery. The students brought hundreds of thank you cards made by the Union students to say thank you for visiting their school for fire safety month.

"We have been doing this for seven years," said Union Principal Mike Masucci.

He said the students were encouraged to write thank you notes, write poems and draw pictures at home to send to the fire department. Following a brief recap on fire safety, the students handed off the letters and cards, then enjoyed pizza with the fire department crew. They also got a special tour of the department and the fire trucks.
