On Monday (Oct. 29) Pressed Coffee Bar and Eatery held a soft opening inside the Poland Library. Owner Frank Tuscano said there is an air of excitement over the opening of the new facility in Poland.

"I think the library will be a great partnership," Tuscano said. "It was a lot of work to set up a restaurant and we are all very tired, but at the same time, we are excited to be in Poland."

He said at the present time he has 10 employees, but that number could go as high as 16 or 18 depending on business. He said he is hiring this week.

Frank Tuscano, owner of Pressed Coffee Bar and Eatery, poses in the newly decorated dining room at the Poland Library. On Monday he held a soft opening for the new occupant of the café area on the lower floor of the library.

One of the signature items on the Pressed menu will be the all-day breakfast. That includes the gourmet waffles and the giant Belgian waffle.

On the coffee side of the menu, there is a vast choice of beverages from signature espresso drinks, iced coffees, cocoa, teas, lattes, cappuccinos, smoothies, Italian soda and drip coffee.

Tuscano is not new to the industry. In fact, this will be the second Pressed location in the Valley. The first one, opened by Tuscano and co-owner Pamela Von Bergen, is located at 215 Lincoln Ave. near the YSU Campus in downtown Youngstown.

"We opened that one four years ago," Tuscano said.

To help run the new Poland location, Tuscano hired Poland native Megan Shaw to serve as general manager. Shaw said she feels good about the new location.

"It's exciting to be bringing something like this to Poland," she said. "We serve only quality products and have brought Poland a good cup of coffee."

Pressed Coffee Bar and Eatery will also feature a bakery and offer fresh homemade specialties for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Signature items served include frittatas, and gourmet waffles. In addition, salads, soups, sandwiches, drinks and treats are available for dine-in or take out.

Pressed is also available for catering meetings and events held in the Poland Library meeting room.

Tuscano noted in a press release, "We specialize in working with you to make your next meeting or special occasion a memorable one." Pressed also offers off-site catering serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Hours for the new Pressed Coffee Bar and Eatery inside Poland Library beginning Oct. 29 will be: Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Aimee Fifarek, Library Executive Director, said, "We're very excited to have the opportunity to offer our customers a caf with such outstanding quality food and a wide selection of menu items. We hope you'll stop by for breakfast or lunch the next time you're visiting the Poland Library."
