Boardman gets the bid to host Div. IV second round playoff game

Boardman Schools athletic director Denise Gorski announced that Boardman and Spartan Stadium has been chosen as the site of the Division IV second round OHSAA playoff game on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. The Steubenville Big Red will be playing against one of the area's own teams, the Hubbard Eagles. A large crowd is expected for this game.

This is the third year out of five years of the new stadium that Boardman has been asked to host a playoff game. Nick Hewko will be the game manager as he has been each time Boardman has hosted over the years. He has done a tremendous job in organizing and leading the operations of these tournament games.

"Our own BSTN crew will be heavily involved and get great exposure during the game," Gorski said. "They are already very excited after speaking with Chris earlier today. We will ask National Honor Society or emerging leaders to have some students there to help with selling programs. Many of our own school and district staff will be working the event."

Gorski sends a big thank you to the Boardman Booster Club, the core stadium committee, and every donor for making the facility a reality. Boardman has hosted many events in arts, academics, and athletics.

"We are very humbled to be asked to once again showcase our facilities, our school, and community next weekend," Gorski said.
