The Austintown Fitch Choir Boosters are preparing for their second annual Santa's Workshop Craft Show next month. The boosters will be raising funds to help with the Fitch Choir's annual trip to a veteran's hospital.

The Santa's Workshop event is set for Dec. 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be held in the Fitch High School cafeteria and will feature crafts, consultants, a 50/50 raffle and a basket auction.

At present the choir boosters are looking for vendors to fill the cafeteria for the event. The application can be found on the school's website by going to, then go to schools, Fitch, clubs and activities, Choir, and fundraisers, which will have a downloadable application.

As for the trip in April, the Choir will be visiting a Norfolk, Virginia Navy Base. Roughly 45 choir members will be making the trip, which won't be all fun and games.

"Usually, they have a three-hour veterans hospital performance," said Director of Vocal Music Bill Klein. "They will also take part in a master class at a local university, and do some sight seeing."

The Fitch Choir has been visiting veteran's locations to perform for the past 47 years.

This year's trip will run around $840. Klein said the kids raise funds individually and the boosters club does help with fundraising.
