Stadium Drive presented with Blue Ribbon award

November 28, 2018
The Town Crier

There's been plenty of talk about the National Blue Ribbon School Award, but on Friday, Nov. 16, students and staff at Stadium Drive Elementary School finally got to see it themselves. Boardman School Board members and Superintendent Tim Saxton presented the National Blue Ribbon School plaque and the huge school banner in the gymnasium. The awards were just back from the national ceremony in Washington D.C. last week.

Stadium Drive was recognized as an "Exemplary High Performing School." It is one of only 300 public schools across the nation to earn the Blue Ribbon Award in 2018.

It is a very selective process and National Blue Ribbon Schools are measured by state assessments, student scores and graduation rates among other criteria.

"It was such an amazing experience, to network with so many exceptional schools across the country and to compare programs and ideas," said Principal Zoccali. "We are proud, but also more energized than ever to continue on our path to excellence."
