2018 Excellence in Education Awards announced

Excellence in Education Award Winners through the Eastern Ohio Education Partnership.

Poland Middle School is the recipient of the Eighth Grade Math/ High School Readiness Award. The award recognizes schools with at least 30 percent of students completing eighth grade having earned at least one Algebra 1 or Integrated Math 1 high school class credit by the end of their 2017-2018 academic year.

Poland Seminary High School is the recipient of the Postsecondary/ Matriculation Award. The award recognizes schools with at least 50 percent of all 2015-2016 students who graduate high school on time enrolled in Ohio public universities within two years.

The high school is also the recipient of the Postsecondary Dual Enrollment Award. The award recognizes schools with at least 20 percent of all 2017-2018 graduating students with each having earned at least three dual enrollment credits.

The awards were presented at a luncheon on Nov. 15.
