The Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors presented a check for $6,364.46 to Maters Foundation to support their charitable efforts in

the community. The presentation took place at the association headquarters on Dec. 5, at 1:45 p.m.. In 2018, YCAR has donated a total of $12,061.09.

It has become a long-standing tradition of YCAR that each year, the YCAR President chooses a local charity for the association members to support with donations and/or volunteer hours. Janice Stevens, the 2018 President of YCAR, has asked the association to support Maters Foundation for 2018. Named for the character Mater from the popular children's movie "Cars," William Simmons visits children and helps raise funds for charities using his own Mater. Mater was built by William Simmons and made his first debut in June 2014, establishing Maters Foundation to provide support for children's charities. Some of the charities that Maters Foundation supports are the Tri-County Special Olympics, the Down's Syndrome Society, & Santa's Hide-A-Way Hollow.
