March 20, 2019
The Town Crier

As part of Women's History Month, members of Northeast Ohio Women Veterans were honored on March 9 by Quilts of Valor and provided a presentation by Dave Morrow from WomenWarriorOhio.org. Two of the members honored are cousins and served in the Navy and Air Force Reserves.

The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. Their values are to treating people with respect by honoring all faiths and beliefs, promoting excellence by putting the best possible workmanship and materials into every quilt so it will be a lasting award for the person it is meant to comfort. QOV volunteers value service over self; recipients come first.

Also contributing to the Women History Month event was David Morrow, a documentary photographer and writer who served in the US Air Force and Utah Army National Guard. His past projects include a website dedicated to the Vietnam Veterans stories at vietnamvetshancockcounty.org/ and a Facebook page and published bio's about the residents of Findlay, Ohio. Morrow spoke to the group about his new project, womenwarriorsohio.org/ which documents the stories of women veterans in the state of Ohio. Unit President Jennifer Baun has had her story included.
