On Saturday (June 8) the Poland Lions Club will be holding their annual Treasures of the Trunk sale at the Poland High School Stadium parking lot. The event features crafts, home goods, furniture, toys, and specialty and garage sale items.

"We are presently looking for vendors," said event coordinator and Lion member Judy Young. "This event is our major fundraiser for the year."

She said the club tries to donate 100 percent of the proceeds from the event to various community needs. The club provides eye glasses to those living in the community who are in need. The club also provides a scholarship for a graduating senior from Poland Seminary High School and sponsors the Lions International Peace Poster Contest on the local level.

"These funds also allow us to provide other services as requested," Young said. "Such requests have included the community food pantry, special school activities and Celebrate Poland. This event helps us provide blankets during our annual blanket drive held each November."

The event will take place from a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 8. The club turns the parking lot at the stadium (corner of Ohio 170 and Dobbins Road) into the sales area. There is a limit of 100 spaces, which are rented out at $15 per space until May 30. After that date, if there are any spaces left, they go for $20 each.

For information on the event, or to preserve a space, call Lion Judy at 330-360-3641 or Lion Lori at 330-506-9511.
