On Sept. 11, the Boardman Township Safety Services Memorial was dedicated to honor safety services personnel and in remembrance of two firefighters who died in the line of duty.

The Boardman Township Safety Services Memorial was dedicated to honor safety services personnel and in remembrance of two firefighters who died in the line of duty. Robert Bonser, age 28, had only been a firefighter for two years when he succumbed to a heart attack on Aug. 17, 1963, while on duty at Station #2 on Boardman Poland Rd. Firefighter Phillip Kibler, age 42, was a 15-year veteran of the fire service when he passed away due to a heart attack on Dec. 10, 1982 while working at Station #4 on South Ave.
