More flood issues surfaced at the Sept. 11 Poland Township meeting. One of the issues came from an Ohio Department Of Transportation (ODOT) spokesman.

Ron Sharpe from ODOT spoke on a proposal for work to be done at the intersection of Ohio 616 an d Beechwood Drive. He said a study revealed some problems at that intersection.

"A field study showed there has been flooding problems, which ODOT believes is because the roads are too flat," Sharpe said.

He said being too flat prevents the water from flowing into the catch basins. He proposed lowering the basins in that area.

Also speaking on the subject of flooding was guest John Rosensteel from Spitler Road, who had concerns about flooding on his property.

A discussion was held about the possibility of adding a "foot traffic only" sign at the township park so ATV and dirt bike riders do not damage trails.

Trustees accepted the the resignation of two police officers, Scott Weiland, who resigned Sept. 3, and Jacob Lape, who will resign effective Monday.

It was announced that 82 percent of the streets have been milled and resurfaced, but work is still continuing.
