Boardman fall musical kicks off holiday season

November 20, 2019
The Town Crier

Boardman High School is proud to present "Elf the Musical," Nov. 21 through 23 at the Boardman Performing Arts Center. Tickets are on sale now online at www.boardmanperformingarts.com or by calling 330-259-7150.

"Elf the Musical" is a smart and energetic version of the well-known holiday movie with Will Ferrell. The story follows Buddy the Elf, a human, adopted and raised by Santa and the elves in the North Pole, as he ventures to New York City to find his Dad, the ultimate scrooge, Walter Hobbs.

"We could not have been more blessed to have the perfect cast and crew for this show this year," said Director Rachel Ruggieri. There are more than 60 students on stage and behind the scenes, along with dozens of wonderful BHS musicians in the Orchestra Pit.

"The Broadway version was only recently made available to community groups and high schools, and Boardman High School was among the first to obtain the rights to perform the full show on the BPAC stage," said Ruggieri. "We are so excited to bring it to Boardman!"

Performances are Thursday, Nov. 21 and Friday Nov. 22 at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, and $10 for students and senior citizens.
