Rotary Club shares community spirit

December 11, 2019
The Town Crier

December brings another chance for the Rotary Club of Austintown to help the local community. Falcon Forward, Kritti's Closet, and the AMS Food Pantry received checks from the club, marking the fourth year of this project. Jennifer Ciccarelli, President of the Austintown PTA Council, and Lynn Mickey represent Falcon Outreach, which raises funds all year to help families in need at various times of the year. Last year over $14,000 was distributed to help nearly 150 families. Rotary's contribution totaled $1500, with an additional $250 being sent to the Austintown Middle School Food Pantry, represented by John Hudson, one of its founders. Finally, Donna Burnell received $250 for Kritti's Closet, which provides food, clothing, personal care items, and other needs for high school students. All of the speakers stressed gratitude and confidentiality as the most common reaction and need of those being served.
