The Austintown Fitch Mock Trial Club competed in Akron at the Court of Common Pleas on Friday, Jan. 17. Students competed against other Northeastern Ohio schools throughout the day.

Students in Mock Trial Club spent several months learning and analyzing the law so that they could argue for the Plaintiff or Defense in a Civil Trial against other Northeastern Ohio schools who argued the opposing side.

A special practice was held before the competition on Thursday, Jan. 16. Guest judges came in to judge an intra-squad scrimmage to prepare one last time for competition. Guest judges included Mahoning County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Linette Stratford, Summit County Civil Chief Assistant Prosecutor John Galonski, and Summit County Assistant Prosecutor Heaven DiMartino.
