The Canfield High School Boys Swim Team completed their season with a trip to the OHSAA Division II state championship meet held at the C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton, Ohio. The Card were led by senior captain Matthew Peckman who qualified in two individual events, the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard freestyle, followed by Connor Fritz, who also qualified individually in the 100-yard backstroke. Also qualifying were the boys medley relay consisting of Fritz, Ty Schaab, Luke Dietz and Peckman, and the 200-yard free relay which included Dietz, Cameron Burnett, Fritz and Peckman.

During the two-day event held on Feb. 20 and Feb. 21, the Canfield boys excelled at the state preliminaries and finals. Peckman finished sixth in the 50 Yard Freestyle and 16th in the 100 yard freestyle, while Fritz took 22nd place in the 100 yard backstroke. The 200 yard medley relay finished 12th while the 200 yard free relay placed 10th in the state competition. Head Coach Jamie Stahl engineered a superb season for the boys swim team, which only had eight members, yet five of them qualified for the State meet. With Peckman as the only senior, the four underclassmen (Fritz and Schaab as juniors, Dietz as a sophomore (who competed in the State meet in 2019), and freshman Burnett), are anxious to return to Canton in 2021.
