Staff to make plans for alternative education for students

March 11, 2020
The Town Crier

Out of an abundance of caution, the Poland Local School District will have a Waiver Day Friday, March 13, 2020, for staff to prepare for alternative instructional mediums as the presence of the COVID-19 Virus looms in Ohio. There will be NO school for students on March 13, classes resume on Monday, March 16, 2020.

The Poland Local School District (PLSD) made plans for the upcoming Waiver Day as a precaution, after hearing Ohio Governor Mike DeWine talk about the COVID-19 Virus in a press conference, and out of concern for student safety and well-being, which are top priorities for the PLSD.

Teachers will proactively and voluntarily spend the upcoming weekend to prepare

high-quality alternative education for students. We would ask families to begin to plan for arrangements should the district be forced to interrupt normal operations. A closure could last up to 15 days.

The PLSD continues to monitor the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Ohio Department of Health. We will continue to update the Bulldog Community with updates when they become available.
